HNK's 5th album is the most ambitious release to date. The overall theme and tone of the album is the fact that musicians do get older and have kids and "slow" down a bit. This new album embraces that fact and brings in an energetic and humorous quality to the songs. The songwriting has a bit of an experimental edge on some songs. HNK wasn't afraid to go with different guitar effects and song structures a little more than previous releases. The 80's theme is still there as it has and always will be the overall theme of the band itself. Punk Rock Dad still has cheeky references to popular 80's films such as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Child's Play, and Bill & Ted. Included in the album is a Flock of Segulls cover which was a suggestion from a fan to do years ago. Heath's personal favorite tracks from this album include License to Rock, Give Me The Cure, and Summer Fun.
